We made a quick stop for a photo op while out on a several day motorcycle ride at Bridal Veil Falls in Utah. It is located off of US189 in the South end of Provo Canyon.
The Bridal Veil Falls Legend goes: “Many moons ago, an Indian named Norita and a brave from a rival tribe, named Grey Eagle met and fell in love. They planned to meet near a streamlet high on the mountainside and elope to a land far away from both their tribes. On that fateful night, instead of her lover, Norita was confronted by braves from her own tribe. Fearing her lover had been destroyed she leaped from the high ledges. Mother Nature was touched by her wild beauty, and she caught up Norita’s streaming tresses and made from them a Bridal Veil of falling water. From her flowing gown an alter was formed on the face of the mountain. Then her spirit was sent out as a mist, causing a green carpet to spread over the mountainside. The intruders fled while her saddened lover stood and gazed down at the strange yet beautiful transformation. His grief was more than he could bear, so out of compassion for his sorrow, Mother Nature molded his massive frames into the mountain and stretched his mighty shoulders high into the heavens like silent sentinels to guard over his loved one. His cries of anguish were softened into love calls to whisper forever.”
It was beautiful and breathtaking and in a really neat valley which made for a great motorcycle ride. It was a wonderful choice my husband had made to stay off of the regular quicker routes on our trip to/from Nevada & Montana so that we could experience and see more of our beautiful countryside despite adding more miles and travel days to our trip (2,540 miles from start to finish).
It is a great spot to stop and stretch the legs for a few or to even have a picnic down below at the falls. If it hadn’t had been for the weather rolling in we would have ventured and walked the path and got close up, maybe next time. I am now totally in love with staying off the beaten path on two wheels unless it cannot be avoided. I cannot wait for our next adventure. I hope you enjoyed a little from one of our trips.
We walked over 6 miles yesterday through some beautiful territory. Some of our party couldn’t make some of the steep hikes but there was still plenty to see on easy strolls and partial hikes of ups and downs broken up by picture taking along the way. So awe inspiring at the beauty this Country holds from within that so many have yet to see or some may never have the chance. Get out and discover new things whenever you can no matter what your age!! Auntie Carlene is 73 years young…..Explore your surroundings and what this great Country holds from within!! NO Excuses!! There was every race, every body type, every age bracket to be seen throughout the park. Some could easily walk, some were slower than others, some were seasoned hikers, some were on crutches, some were in wheelchairs, some were on bicycles, some were riding on their parents backs…..one thing we all had in common was that we were all enjoying our beautiful surroundings!! You Have this One life to live, right here..right now so you might as well live it up and live life to the fullest!!😊 Don’t live with “I wish I had” … live with “I DID” every chance I got!!! Somewhere in New Mexico in the middle of absolutely nothing you will find an occasional homestead, abandoned towns, cattle, antelope and telephone poles. The highway is cracked with weeds and grass growing in them, the traffic is scarce and few in between, the sun is shining ever so brightly and beautifully and it’s 62 degrees. It is desolate, isolated and in the middle of nowhere but somewhere in New Mexico, this is where you will find my husband Terry and I right this very moment!! We are on the road again. My husband is found some traveling for work and can work from anywhere and for the first time in 23 years we have no animals or kids at home, we are officially emptynesters! We are enjoying life and learning to adapt to our newly acquired freedoms. Besides, keeping busy is making missing my kiddos and animals much easier! Have a wonderful day and enjoy your life!! Life isn’t always easy but with patience and never giving up, your hopes and dreams will someday come true!! Thanks for reading my thoughts…….Robin Robinson
Breakfast alone in a room with strangers, the soft soothing sound of Frank Sinatra & Fred Astaire singing in the background with a slight clunking of dishes being cleaned from the kitchen…..what a beautiful morning it is!

Photobomb….a little something to make you smile!! My husband just couldn’t help himself and wouldn’t get out of the picture so his punishment is me using the silliest one!!
Enjoy your surroundings no matter where you are, no matter who you’re with, no matter what you may be going through!! Life is short….so enjoy just as much as you can, make the most of EVERY situation, find the Good & Positives in your everyday life!! YOU, ME, WE…WE deserve to be Happy but no one can magically make you Happy…WE have to find it from within!! Have a blessed day everyone, hugs from somewhere in Wisconsin!!! 😊#terrynrobin Thanks for reading my thoughts…….Robin Robinson
Day 2 – We left Grand Junction headed for Colorado Springs, CO via the scenic route that adds about an extra hour going through Aspen. Now we can say we’ve been to Apen. Narrow streets, tons of people everywhere even during the summer and there’s a lot of money in that town. Lots of private jets at the airport and even a Gucci store.
It is a nice and cute little town and probably fun to wander but we are on a mission to get to Colorado Springs and Aspen looks just like one of the “tourist traps” that’s a bit over priced for the average person. (Meant with no disrespect just not our thing.)
When you leave Aspen heading to Colorado Springs you get to see some beautiful mountain scenery, some streams and little waterfalls and maybe even a deer or two along the way. The pass is limited to vehicles under 35ft in length and it narrows greatly with speed limits varying but 35-40 most of it as there’s several switchbacks, turns and curves.
just a small stretch of the road
It is scenic and now we can say we’ve been through Aspen. After living in the Bitterroot Valley in Montana, and a couple years in British Columbia it was very comparable and just like back home. If you are NOT use to the Mountains, the back country…then by all means take the scenic route through Aspen as it is beautiful.
We decided it was time for lunch and found a nice place along our route. Definately recommend. Two patios one on the front off of the highway and one in the back. The Hamburgers were delicious, hand made and good quality meat not a fast food joint!! Buena Vista was the little town.
Travel and experience new things wether it’s just down the street in your hometown, neighboring towns or going cross country. There is beauty and adventures everywhere!! The world has so much to offer if we just look around and take the time to experience and see new things! Will write more in Part 2 of Day 2…..Thanks for reading my thoughts…….Robin Robinson
ROAD TRIP…..where will our adventure lead and whom shall we meet along the way?!?! Hmmm…..Leaving a day early!!Hubby just loves to make me rush as I had 4hrs to do laundry, pack everything and make sure everything else was squared away!! LoL Took a little over 4hrs and last load in laundry and just gonna have to sit there!! LoL I will post some pictures of our adventure the next few weeks but for now OPSEC is being used…. 😉
Take an adventure every chance you get! It may be a once in a lifetime opportunity!! Travel, see things, experience things and think bigger than where you are right now!! Follow your dreams, make mistakes, leave no stone unturned and LIVE the Life of Adventure with NO Regrets!! DO and Experience things before it’s too late, before you run out of time and there just may be no tomorrow!! Thanks for reading my thoughts……….Robin Robinson
